conservatory & garden, Tufnell Park Previous Next A conservatory has been added to a Victorian terraced house. The new sash window to the conservatory continues the traditional, staggered pattern of the existing windows. A lighting slot is built into the surround of the window bay. The conservatory has three distinct elements: a Yorkstone terrace, a lead clad bay with a sash window, and a structural glass wall and roof. The external Yorkstone flooring continues into the conservatory and up the party wall. The axial view of the garden is through a traditional sash window with a window seat. The structural glass wall and ceiling are a contemporary surround to the traditional window. The staggered pattern of the sash windows also informs the layout of the garden. Various mullion alignments occur between the sash windows. An alternating pattern of gravel and fully planted beds provides a loose structure to a diverse specimen garden.
